## How to Use DocsToAudio
1. Go to https://docstoaudio.online. No sign-up is required for the free Standard tier.
2. Upload a PDF, EPUB, DOCX, or TXT file.
3. Select the chapters or sections you want to convert.
4. Review and edit the extracted text if needed.
5. Choose Standard or Premium.
6. For Premium, select an ElevenLabs or Gemini model. If you have created a cloned voice, select an ElevenLabs model to use it.
7. Choose a language and voice, then generate a preview.
8. Review the estimated credit cost before starting a Premium conversion.
9. Click Convert.
For free Standard conversions, keep the browser tab open until processing finishes. Download the MP3 or M4B files before closing or refreshing the page because Standard audio is not stored for later recovery.
For background conversions, you can close the browser after submission. DocsToAudio will email you when the audio is ready, and the completed files will remain available under My Jobs for seven days.
To create a cloned voice, sign in and open My Cloned Voices. Record 10–30 seconds of your own voice or upload a clear voice sample you are explicitly authorized to use. Preview the cloned voice, then select it under an ElevenLabs model during document conversion.

Yes. The Standard tier is free, requires no account, and offers 300+ voices across 30+ languages. It has no hard file-size or word limit. Keep the browser open during conversion and download the generated files before closing or refreshing the page.
Premium features use pay-as-you-go credits. There is no recurring subscription.
### What file formats are supported?

### Do I need to create an account?

### Which voices and models are available?
The Standard tier includes 300+ voices across 30+ languages.
Premium includes 800+ ElevenLabs voices and multilingual Google Gemini models, with voices suited to narration, conversation, education, and other content styles.
### Can I clone my own voice?
Yes. You can record a 10–30 second sample or upload a clear MP3 file to create a reusable AI voice. Only use your own voice or a voice you have explicit authorization to clone.
After creation, generate a short preview to check the result. Then choose an ElevenLabs model and select your cloned voice during document conversion.
### Can I close the browser during conversion?
For free Standard conversions, no. Closing or refreshing the page interrupts the conversion, and generated files may no longer be available.
For background conversions, yes. After submitting the job, you can close the browser. DocsToAudio will email you when processing is complete.
### How long are completed files available?
Audio created through background conversion remains available under My Jobs for seven days after completion. After that, the files are automatically deleted.
Standard audio is not stored, so it should be downloaded immediately after conversion.
### Is there a file-size limit?
There is no hard file-size limit. Very large documents may take longer to parse and may require more browser memory. Selecting fewer chapters can improve reliability for unusually large files.
### Is my original document uploaded or stored?
The original PDF, EPUB, DOCX, or TXT file is parsed in your browser and is not uploaded to DocsToAudio servers.
The selected text required for speech generation is sent to the applicable speech provider. Audio from Standard conversions is not stored by DocsToAudio. Audio from background conversions is stored temporarily for seven-day re-downloads.
### Can I use generated audio commercially?
Commercial use depends on your rights to the source material, the selected voice, and the applicable speech provider’s terms.
DocsToAudio does not grant rights to copyrighted text, voices, likenesses, or other third-party content. You are responsible for obtaining the necessary permissions and confirming that your intended commercial use complies with the relevant provider’s terms.
